Do we have a bar?

Yes - alcoholic, soft drinks, hot drinks and cakes can be purchased from the bar which is run by Cleeve House.

Are children welcome to our productions?

Yes - we offer a £5 seat reduction for all performances. We do not charge for under three year olds if they are sitting on a person’s lap or are a groundling, but please consider if your child can cope with a full-length performance.

Is there disabled access and disabled parking?

Yes - we have a special area for disabled parking, close to Cleeve House, and there are no steps between there and the stand. Disabled toilets are inside the house. The stand is tiered and has 12 rows, but the steps are not steep. Please contact the box office if you need a wheelchair space immediately in front of the stand, or you wish to reserve disabled parking.

Are dogs allowed?

Regretfully not.

What is different about the gala night?

This is the last night, so we make it special by providing live entertainment before the start of the show and during the interval.

Do we allow you to sit on your own chairs?

Regretfully not. We have a limited number of groundling places immediately in front of the stand –bring a rug or a sleeping bag.

How long is the interval?

We usually take a 30 minute interval. On some nights, it could be reduced to 20 minutes.

Can you make a night of it?

Picnickers are most welcome. The grounds open 1½ hours before the start of each show. Picnickers have been known to bring their own tables, chairs, ice buckets, candelabra, etc. Picnics have gone ahead when it has been raining heavily; strawberries and champagne under umbrellas in the truly intrepid British fashion.

We offer 1 free seat for every 10 students, but if you have particular needs or queries, please contact the box office.

Ticket prices and how to obtain them?

Prices:

  • Numbered seats in the covered stand cost £15 Monday to Saturday Matinee and £20 for the Saturday night Gala performance. There is a £5 discount on all these prices for under 19s / NUS Students.

  • There are a limited number of £5 un-numbered groundling places (£10 for the Gala)

Tickets can either be purchased via:

  • Online via Website, assisted by TicketSource – see events. A small credit/debit card charge will be levied

  • From the Box Office – we accept cheques only (no card facilities are available).

  • Booking Form - attached to our leaflet mailout and downloadable via our newsletter mailout and individual events booking page. (SAE must be sent with booking form for tickets to be returned to you.

  • On the door within 1½ hours of the start of the production, but subject to availability. Cash only, though we hope to be able to accept cards wef 2018 subject to a small charge.

If you wish to book a particular seat or seats, please contact the box office. This is on a ‘first come first served’ basis. The box office usually opens near the start of April each year.

Do we offer refunds?

Regretfully not. This is in accordance with UK theatre practice. However, if having booked for a particular performance, you then have to change to another performance, please contact the box office and we should be able to arrange this.
